Musically, the Zinn Piano Program immerses participants in an effective combination of ear learning, sightreading, score study, composition, multi-key framework which provides, in short, a well-balanced comprehensive musicianship education and musical awareness. By carefully integrating Performance Psychology with educational theory and practice as called for by Essential Skills for Learning, our program strives to promote cognitive enhancement using the latest in evidence-based techniques and psychological research.

Our unique approach creates a safe, social, and supportive environment with positive mentoring partnerships. Adults and children in our program come from diverse backgrounds and share the common belief that learning can be exciting; they participate cooperatively and contribute to the musical future of our community as a whole. When considering an applicant we consider factors such as willingness to work within our paradigm, core philosophy of cooperation rather than competition, and the willingness of parents or guardians to participate fully in their child's music education.  Visit our application page for details about the admission process.

In general, we take approximately 50 new applicants each year. We are organized into four divisions: Preschool Piano Kids, Zinn Piano Program for average age children (ages 6 through 16), Piano for Adults, and Special Needs Piano Kids.  Even though students are typically admitted into all four divisions,, the primary entry points are preschool and average-age children.

Our clients are drawn to Zinn Piano Program's progressive educational approach, our dedication to every student as an individual, our use of core psychological principles, our safe and supportive environment, and our beautiful and effective facilities.
