Finale Performance Assessment helps students to develop their music sightreading skills. Our students use it at home when doing their sightreading assignments.
It provides immediate feedback on note & rhythm performance, showing when the notes were played, which notes were correct and incorrect. The assessment shows the number correct and incorrect and gives a score as a percentage. The program is free and requires a computer, digital piano or MIDI keyboard, and a MIDI adapter cable.

Sibelius is a fully functional, easy-to-use music notation software package that alllows you to compose and playback anything from piano scores to full-blown orchestral symphonies in any musical style. Although all of our students use this software to compose their own piano music, our composition track students specialize in using this software to orchestrate their own compositions. Their music can also be published online and played back using Sibelius Scorch, a free browser plugin. Sibelius also gives you complete control over score markings and layout and it provides printouts that are professional quality.
