The Brain Awareness Week event schedule for Saturday, March 20th, is as follows:
-
Children in the 11:00 AM group will come in as usual. We will work with those children in their group. Parents are welcome to stay.
-
Children in the 11:30 and 12:15 groups will come in at 11:30 and stay until 12:30. These children will learn more about the brain. We will have our brain model here for them to hold and look at, and we will help them learn some fundamentals of cognitive neuroscience. The will leave with learning materials appropriate for them. Parents are welcome.
-
Children in the 1:00 and 1:45 groups will come at 1:00 and stay until 2:00. These children can learn more about cognitive neuroscience and will leave with a new understanding of how their brain works! This age group is encouraged to seek information on neuroscience websites in addition to the information we give them. We will construct a list for them.
-
The 2:30 and 3:15 groups will come in at 2:30 and their event will last until 3:45 or so. These children will see, in real time, the changes the brain makes under different conditions (learning music, playing well-known music, etc.). They will leave with a lot of information, including their own brain maps.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL, please ask before that day (the 20th). We cannot answer the phone during these events.
Thank you,
Dr. Marcie
